Curing of Concrete : Water is one of the most crucial ingredients of concrete. It causes a chemical reaction with cement which is called the ' Hydration reaction'. This reaction causes the concrete to develop strength, and it takes 28 days for the development. Water must have to remain in the concrete till it attains its robustness.   When the Formwork for the RCC members is removed, the concrete gets exposed to the air. The water from the concrete starts to evaporate into the atmosphere. The Hydration reaction is an exothermic reaction due to heat, and the temperature of the concrete rises and causes evaporation of the water inside the concrete.   Hence there can be loss of water due to two reasons.
